On January 28, Georgian Airways will operate a direct flight from Tbilisi to Moscow. This was reported to Pia.ge by Georgian Airways.
Information about the direct flight Tbilisi-Moscow was disseminated on the Georgian Airways Facebook page, but later the airline deleted this information.
As Pia.ge was informed by the company, this is a charter flight that will be made only once.
Tickets on the Tbilisi-Moscow route on the airline's website cost 718 GEL. The flight will be operated on January 28 at 10:00 and will arrive in Moscow at 11:30 Moscow time.
The plane will depart from Moscow on January 28 at 12:30 and will arrive in Georgia at 16:00. Ticket price - 621 GEL.
Pia.ge contacted Zurab Abashidze, the Prime Minister's Special Representative for Russia Relations, about a planned direct flight to Moscow.
According to Abashidze, regular flights between Georgia and the Russian Federation have not been resumed.
“This is a technical procedure agreed upon by the airlines. Regular flights have not been restored,” Zurab Abashidze said.
For reference, air traffic between Georgia and Russia was suspended on July 8, 2019 after the decree of the President of Russia.
