Representatives of the occupation forces illegally detained two Georgian citizens near the occupied village of Lopani in the Khashuri municipality. Information about this is being disseminated by the State Security Service of Georgia.
According to the same report, the monitoring mission was informed about this fact and a hot line was activated.
“Since the moment of the illegal detention, a constant communication has been carried out with the help of the hotline. The EU observer mission and the co-chairs of the Geneva Discussions were briefed. The State Security Service, together with its international partners, is actively involved in ongoing measures for the immediate release of Georgian citizens.Illegal detentions significantly complicate the situation on the line of occupation and security in the occupied territories and endanger the daily life of local residents.
The Russian Federation bears full responsibility for illegal detentions," - the Georgian State Security Service said in a statement.
