EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Herchinski said that by the end of the year Georgia should receive the status of a candidate for EU membership.
As Herchinski points out, before that, the country should make maximum progress in implementing the recommendations.
“We all know that this is a key moment for Georgia. We welcome and support the contacts of political leaders of Georgia with the 27 member states and the visits of high-ranking politicians of the EU member states to Georgia. The dialogue is intense – it is very important that the 27 Member States make the right decision at the end of the year. From my personal position, Georgia should receive the status of a candidate," Herchinsky said in an interview with Georgian media.
