“Georgia has made great strides in the fight against corruption, the progressive policy of the government has been confirmed by a number of international ratings,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in a statement.

According to the head of government, according to the Trace International Freedom Index rating - the level of freedom from corruption risks this year, Georgia is ahead of 13 EU countries and is the undisputed leader in the region.

“Today is the International Anti-Corruption Day. Our country is celebrating this day with serious achievements. The government's progressive policy has been confirmed by a number of international ratings. One of them is the latest study by Trace International Corruption Perceptions Index, in which Georgia was included in the top twenty in Europe and in the top thirty in the world and ranked first in the component that assessed the low risk of corruption in the government. Georgia is ahead of 13 EU countries and is the undisputed leader in the region.

This result was made possible thanks to the reforms of our government in the field of anti-corruption legislation, the participation of civil society and the openness of the government.

“We are steadily stepping up our efforts to strengthen freedom from corruption, transparency, accountability and open governance,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in a statement.
