Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili considers it necessary to introduce certain regulations for online casinos. The prime minister said this at a meeting of the Georgian government.
According to him, the government is considering the possibility of introducing certain restrictions on the gambling business.
“Our citizens, young people play in online casinos every day and earn money. I spoke about this with the economic team, and we think that it is necessary to prepare a legislative initiative to raise taxes for online casino owners.
In addition, at the first stage, advertising should be banned and the threshold should be raised to 25 years, and at the next stage, online casinos should be banned altogether. I hope that we will have the support of society in this matter,” - said Irakli Garibashvili.
