“We are extremely concerned about the tragic events that took place in Kazakhstan, as a result of which dozens of people were killed,” - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a government meeting.

The head of government also spoke about the citizens of Georgia who were in Kazakhstan during the confrontation and noted that some of them returned to Georgia, and the embassy continues to actively communicate with the citizens of our country, who still remain in Kazakhstan, providing assistance if necessary. According to the prime minister, these persons will be returned to Georgia in the next few days.

“I want to touch upon current events in Kazakhstan. Of course, we followed very closely what was happening in the last days. We are deeply concerned about the tragic events that took place in Kazakhstan, as a result of which dozens of people died. We hope that all measures will be taken as soon as possible to finally de-escalate the situation and achieve security and stability. We wish the country to overcome the consequences of the crisis as soon as possible and wish our brotherly Kazakhstan and the people of Kazakhstan to continue to move in the direction of further development. As for the citizens of Georgia who were in Kazakhstan during the confrontation, the Georgian diplomatic mission was in maximum contact with them and provided appropriate assistance on the spot. As a result of the active work of the government, some of them returned to Georgia. The embassy continues to actively communicate with the citizens of Georgia, who still remain in Kazakhstan, and provides them with all the necessary assistance. They will return to Georgia in the coming days“, - the prime minister said.
