Coup attempt prevented in Kyrgyzstan

In Kyrgyzstan, local security officials carried out mass arrests of alleged participants in a possible coup. The 24.kg edition writes about this, citing its own sources.
"A group of people was preparing to seize power by force. Who exactly was detained by the special services is still unknown," the report says.
The Kyrgyz edition of Radio Liberty, citing its own sources, also confirms the arrests of alleged coup plotters. At least 10 people are said to have been detained.
So far, there has been no official comment from the authorities on this matter. However, the fact of the arrests is confirmed by the corresponding videos that got into the network.
The other day, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced his country's desire to strengthen relations with the European Union. Although Kyrgyzstan is formally a military (CSTO) and economic (EurasEC) ally of Russia, in May a local resident who fought against Ukraine as part of Russian troops was ostentatiously sentenced to 10 years in prison.
