The Russian Ministry of Justice has included Meta Platforms Inc, which owns the social networks Facebook and Instagram, as well as the What's App messenger, on the list of extremist organizations. It is reported by Interfax.
The company's activity is prohibited on the territory of Russia. The information released by the Ministry of Justice notes that this decision is based on the verdict of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow.
In addition, the court decision mentions that the ban applies to Facebook and Instagram, and does not apply to WhatsApp, since information through it is not distributed publicly.
