The Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated about it at a joint briefing held after the meeting with the Lithuanian Prime Minister.
According to him, Russia's recent steps towards actual annexation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia/Tskhinvali regions were stressed.
"We also talked about the intensified ethnic discrimination against the Georgian population living in the occupied regions.
Particular emphasis was placed on the need to make progress on the main issues of the agenda regarding the Geneva International Discussions.
The importance of the EU Monitoring Mission was also observed and the necessity of the implementation of the mandate of the mission throughout the whole territory of Georgia was also underscored.
"The parties once again emphasized that the Georgian government is firmly seeking to resolve the conflict in a peaceful way," - Kvirikashvili said.
The Prime Minister once again emphasized the symbolism of today's visit and noted that the struggle for freedom had united many generations of Georgians and Lithuanians.
