Representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally detained a citizen of Georgia in the occupied territory near the village of Akhmadzhi, Akhalgori municipality, reports the State Security Service of Georgia.
“Immediately after receiving information about another fact of illegal detention carried out by the occupying forces, the State Security Service activated the hotline of the European Union Monitoring Mission. The international partners and co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions were immediately informed of the incident.
All available mechanisms are involved for the speedy release of the illegally detained citizen of Georgia. “Responsibility for all destructive actions committed in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the line of occupation, lies with the occupying forces,” the Georgian Security Service said in a statement.
