Officers of the Isani-Samgori Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-search measures and investigative actions, detained 39-year-old T.C. and 30-year-old A.K., who has a prior conviction and is currently under a suspended sentence, on charges of committing a robbery as a group.
The crime carries a penalty of 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
According to the investigation, the accused attacked the operator of one of Tbilisi’s gas-filling stations using a cold weapon and, threatening to kill him, demanded money, which they unlawfully took before fleeing the scene.
As a result of the operative-search measures and investigative actions, police arrested the suspects on the spot.
The weapon used in the crime and the money obtained through the robbery were seized as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which covers robbery.
