Sukhumi handed over a defendant to Russia

The so-called General Prosecutor’s Office of occupied Abkhazia handed over to the Russian side a citizen of the Russian Federation, Alexander Stepanov. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia accuses him of illegal banking activities as well as the unlawful legalization of bank funds and other assets, Apsadgil.info reports.
In a statement, the so-called General Prosecutor’s Office of occupied Abkhazia noted that the handover of the Russian citizen took place after receiving a corresponding request from the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
“This became possible thanks to the high level of cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices of Abkhazia and Russia,” officials in Sukhumi said.
