“The International Economic Forum is not only a business conversation, it is a peaceful manifesto of South Ossetia addressed to the whole world. It shows that the republic is open, that it believes in partnership, and that it both wants and knows how to work.” This was stated by the de facto leader of Tskhinvali, Alan Gagloev, at the “International Economic Forum” held in Tskhinvali. The information was reported by the “Res” agency.
According to the same source, about 3,000 people are participating in the event. The forum is titled “South Ossetia. Horizons of Investment.”
“This is a historic event. It opens new horizons for South Ossetia’s economic development. It can shape the modern image of our country and is oriented toward dynamic cooperation with the outside world,” Gagloev noted.
According to him, since 2008 the so-called South Ossetia, together with Russia, has gone through a very difficult path of recovery. He emphasized that today the so-called South Ossetia is ready for cooperation and offers investors solid guarantees, transparent rules, and full state support.
“Our goal is to create a favorable business environment where every invested ruble works and brings real profit. We have identified investment priorities: industry, the agro-industrial complex, tourism, and the hotel business. These sectors will become the locomotives of growth, sources of new jobs, and platforms for the introduction of new technologies. Let this forum become the starting point for a new era — an era of sustainable development and integration of South Ossetia and Russia into the international economic space,” said Alan Gagloev.
In his words, joint efforts can not only strengthen the economy of South Ossetia but also lay the foundation for the well-being of future generations.
The International Economic Forum is being held in Tskhinvali from September 18 to 20. The de facto government is presenting the investment plans of the occupied region to its guests.
