A person has died in a shark attack off the coast of Australia

One person was killed in a shark attack off the southeastern coast of Australia, The Sydney Morning Herald reported, citing the New South Wales police.
According to the newspaper, "a large shark, presumably," bit a man, after which he was brought ashore, where he died from his injuries.
It is noted that two pieces of a surfboard were also found at the scene. The police cordoned off the beach and are conducting an investigation. Specialists are currently working to determine the species of the shark that attacked the man.
