As a result of Russia’s airstrike on Kyiv on the night of August 28, the building of the European Union delegation was seriously damaged. This was reported by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová.
The nighttime attack left at least 12 people dead, dozens injured, and caused large-scale destruction across the city. It is unknown whether any members of the EU delegation were harmed.
“Russia’s ‘peace’ last night: a massive strike on Kyiv using drones and ballistic missiles. At least 10 dead, 30 wounded, many destroyed buildings. The EU delegation suffered serious damage from the blast wave. This is Moscow’s real response to peace efforts,” Mathernová wrote on X.
“The EU will not be intimidated. Russian aggression only strengthens our determination to support Ukraine and its people,” said António Costa, President of the European Council. Costa called the strike deliberate.
