Kvemo Kartli Police Detain Individual on Attempted Murder Charge

Officers of the Gardabani District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have detained 43-year-old E.G. on charges of attempted premeditated murder, following swift operational and investigative actions. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
According to the agency, the investigation established that the suspect, during a dispute that arose on domestic grounds, inflicted several stab wounds to the chest of his fellow villager, 30-year-old J.I., and then fled the scene. The injured man was taken to a medical facility.
The ministry stated that thanks to investigative efforts, E.G. was apprehended shortly after committing the crime. The weapon used — a knife — was seized as material evidence. The investigation is being conducted under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
This crime is punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment.
