Officers of the Shida Kartli Police Department have solved a case of premeditated murder in hot pursuit — one person has been detained

Officers of the Shida Kartli Police Department and the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out in hot pursuit, detained Z.N., born in 1981, accused of premeditated murder.
The investigation established that in the village of Bebnisi, Kareli Municipality, Z.N., born in 1981, fired a shot from a firearm, killing his fellow villager — Z.I., born in 1975.
Upon receiving the information, relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately arrived at the scene, during which the perpetrator fired several shots at law enforcement officers and fled.
As a result of the shooting, two officers of the Shida Kartli Police Department were injured. Both were taken to a clinic to receive the necessary medical assistance.
Law enforcement officers detained Z.N. in hot pursuit as a result of the investigative actions carried out.
The investigation into the case of premeditated murder is ongoing under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia noted in its statement.
