One Person Charged with Aggravated Murder in Kutaisi

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has brought charges against an individual in connection with a murder committed under aggravating circumstances.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on July 27 in Kutaisi, the accused, acting out of revenge, stabbed three individuals in various parts of their bodies. As a result of the injuries, one victim died, another remains hospitalized with serious wounds, and the third narrowly escaped death.
“Law enforcement officers arrested the suspect shortly after the crime was committed.
He has been charged under subparagraph ‘l’ of Article 19-109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (attempted premeditated murder of two or more persons), which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
At the prosecutor’s request, the accused has already been placed in pre-trial detention,” the statement from the Prosecutor’s Office reads.
