Officers of the Khelvachauri District Division of the Adjara Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested three Belarusian nationals — E.L. (born in 2000), V.Z. (born in 2000), and G.K. (born in 2001) — following operational and investigative measures. They are accused of illegally acquiring and possessing a particularly large quantity of narcotic substances, as well as facilitating the illegal distribution of drugs. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
According to the ministry, during searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and temporary residence in Batumi, law enforcement officers seized as evidence a particularly large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, along with materials intended for packaging and cultivating narcotic substances. As part of the investigation, marijuana intended for further distribution was also seized from 17 different locations in the Khelvachauri municipality and Batumi. Additionally, photographs of these locations were discovered on one of the suspects’ mobile phones.
All three were detained as defendants. The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260^1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The offense is punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment or life in prison.
