Kakha Kaladze is the official candidate for the mayor of Tbilisi from the ruling party "Georgian Dream." The nomination event took place in Mtatsminda Park in the capital, attended by members of the ruling party as well as its founder and honorary chairman, Bidzina Ivanishvili. Kaladze's candidacy was presented by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
"Today, we could have nominated just a good politician, just a good manager, or just a good patriot for the position of Tbilisi mayor. But we are putting forward a true champion — in both the literal and figurative sense of the word. Our candidate is a person who has brought Georgia victories of the highest level. He is a champion, a politician, a manager, and a patriot. He is a model family man, a loyal friend, and a devoted colleague," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Kaladze, in turn, named two main principles on which he plans to base his program if elected for a third term:
"Tbilisi — a city of responsibility, Tbilisi — a city of opportunities."
Kakha Kaladze will be running for mayor of Tbilisi for the third time. Local self-government elections in Georgia will take place on October 4, 2025.
