Tbilisi has completed the construction of a new Sports Palace, where matches of the 2022 European Basketball Championship will be held.
“Our country is ready to host the EuroBasket, which will start on September 1st. July 4 will be a test match. This new palace has already been built,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at the opening of the Sports Palace.The new Sports Palace is located near the high-rise building of the Tbilisi State University. Its area is 25 thousand square meters, the stadium is designed for 10 thousand spectators. The Georgian authorities note that the arena can host sports and cultural events of any format and scale.In connection with the presentation of the new Sports Palace, a concert will be held with the participation of representatives of show business in Georgia.The European Basketball Championship will be held from 1 to 18 September 2022 in Germany, Georgia, Italy and the Czech Republic.
