Officers from the Didube–Chughureti Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, part of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, have detained a Pakistani citizen — M.U., born in 2003 — as a result of investigative and operational measures. He is accused of the illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic substances in especially large quantities, as well as facilitating their unlawful distribution, the Ministry reports.

According to the agency, during a personal search of the detainee and in locations he identified, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of drugs as physical evidence — 44 packages of substances “Methadone” and “Alpha-PVP,” intended for further distribution.

The investigation is being conducted under subparagraph "a" of Part 3, Article 260 and subparagraph "a" of Part 6, Article 260¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

This offense is punishable by up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
