Zelensky Arrives in Washington

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Washington, where he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. The Ukrainian leader announced this on his Telegram channel on the morning of August 18.
According to Trump’s schedule, he will hold a bilateral meeting with Zelensky at 8:15 p.m. Moscow time, followed by a meeting with European leaders at 9:15 p.m.
On his social network Truth, Trump wrote that Zelensky “can practically end the war with Russia immediately if he wants to, or he can continue the fight.” “Remember how it all started. No return of Crimea, handed over by Obama (12 years ago, without a single shot!), and no UKRAINE JOINING NATO. Some things never change!!!” the U.S. president declared.
Along with Zelensky, the heads of the EU, France, Finland, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the NATO Secretary General are flying to meet Trump.
Axios, citing diplomatic sources, earlier reported that during a phone call with Zelensky and European leaders, Trump stated he would like to hold a summit with the participation of Zelensky and Vladimir Putin on August 22. Putin, however, has not officially announced any intention to take part in such a meeting.
