A man wanted on an Interpol Red Notice has been arrested in Batumi

Officers of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions, detained Ukrainian citizen A.K., born in 1989, who was wanted on an Interpol Red Notice. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the ministry, A.K. was on the international wanted list through Interpol at the request of German and Polish law enforcement authorities for various crimes, including leading an organized criminal group and the illegal transportation of migrants.
“The accused crossed the Georgian border before an international search warrant had been issued against him. As a result of investigative actions, A.K. was detained in Batumi.
At present, the extradition procedures provided by law are being carried out with regard to the detainee,” the ministry’s statement said.
