Officers of the Adjara Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of various operational measures and investigative actions carried out at different times, detained L.K., born in 1992, and Turkish citizen I.O., born in 2001. They are accused of the illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large amount of narcotic substances, facilitating their illegal distribution, as well as the unlawful cultivation and growing of plants containing narcotic substances.
The crimes are punishable by up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
During searches of the detainees, their residences, and one additional location, law enforcement officers discovered and seized as evidence various types of drugs prepared for sale, including MDMA, alpha-PVP, methadone, dried marijuana, and cannabis plants. In addition, materials used for packaging narcotics were also confiscated.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 260¹, and 265¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
